Research Project in Industrial Management (1-6 ECTS cr)

Learning outcomes:

  • Student learns to conduct independent research work in Industrial Engineering and Management in a specialized area.
  • Student learns to apply the learned skills of Industrial Engineering and Management in a specific research project.

 

Content and completion:

A specific individual research project which is planned together with the supervisor and consists mainly of literature work, laboratory/desktop research work, and report writing.

Assessment scale and methods:

0-5. Participation in the work of a research group and preparation of the research report or other material, self-study, 27-162 hours.

Learning outcomes:

Acquire skills to apply specific research methods and approaches in doctoral research at IEM.

Content and completion:

Course brings invited experts to teach selected topics on research methods and approaches in Industrial Engineering and Management. The topic, contents and timing of the course varies according to the needs of the doctoral program and are announced each time separately. The credits given depend on the topic and vary between 1-6 cr. Lectures, classroom exercises, workshops and seminars, pre- and post-course reading and assignments.
