Release 30 March 2020 | LUT and LAB staff and students

To meet current needs, the LUT Helpdesk will exceptionally provide phone service from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 18:00. The phone number is (02944) 62580.

If you need help with your computer, don’t forget the self-service portal https://www.lut.fi/helpdesk and virtual assistant Emmi, who answers questions in the Helpdesk section of the intranet (https://intranet.lut.fi/expertandsupportservices/tietohallinto/helpdesk/Pages/Default.aspx) and in the Uni student portal. In addition, you can still ask for help by writing to helpdesk@lut.fi.

Graduation ceremonies in the spring and summer

No graduation ceremonies will be held in May and June.

Neither LUT nor LAB will arrange graduation ceremonies in the spring semester. Students graduating this spring and summer will receive their degree certificates by mail.

Parking fees on the Mukkula and Skinnarila campuses

We have agreed with the eParking service that all outstanding parking permit invoices will now be registered as paid. In other words, if you have received an eParking invoice or reminder, you do not need to pay it. For those who have already paid for parking for the coming months, we will provide instructions later in the spring. We also ask that you not contact eParking directly because their customer service is backed up at the moment.

Cleaning, maintenance and repairs in closed campus buildings

The Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland made the decision to close off the facilities of LUT and LAB on 17 March 2020 under the Communicable Diseases Act.

The decision must be observed in order to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. Only critical research and RDI may be carried out in the facilities. Also installation, renovation and maintenance work is allowed.

Authorisation to work on campus is given by the following people based on proposals by the director of learning and facility services: LUT’s rector for work in LUT facilities, LAB’s president for work in LAB facilities, and the provost for University Services staff.

Working on campus requires the implementation of hygiene and facility-related arrangements to ensure the safety of students and staff. Moreover, no more than 10 people may be in the same space at the same time.
