Green Campus Green Campus

Green Campus is our way of thinking and doing, in which interdisciplinary research and teaching activities are utilized innovatively in order to decrease our environmental load. Green Campus embodies the strong energy expertise of Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) and the research concerning renewable energy sources. We utilize our own expertise in developing infrastructure on our campus - a solar power plant, a wind turbine,  CamCar and Smart Grid are just some examples.

We practice what we preach on Green Campus. Thus we are showing an example how science, technology and business can solve ecological problems and build a sustainable world. In recognition of our expertise, LUT was awarded in the International Sustainable Campus Network competition as the best university in Excellence in Campus category in 2013. The awards were given based on actions and proofs that promote sustainable development and green technology in a concrete way.
